Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo to a Portuguese father and a Belgian mother, Cia DM spent most of her life in her hometown of Lubumbashi. Currently based in South Africa, she is an avid traveler, drawing inspiration from her numerous journeys.
Cia DM offers a pop infused with the colors of the world, juggling between French, English, and Swahili. As a singer-songwriter, she navigates through her first album with a blend of rumba, reggae, and some covers of Pink Floyd, for whom she has endless admiration. Naturally, she presents her album EKLEKTIK, recorded in Brussels, Lubumbashi, and Johannesburg.
